The Adeli Lab’s basic research program aims to elucidate the cellular, molecular, and physiological regulation and hepatic lipoprotein production in normal and insulin resistant states.
Food intake regulation; carbohydrates, sweeteners, appetite and health; proteins, amino acids and food intake; dietary control of peptide hormone and neurotransmitter metabolism. Food composition, dietary status and chronic disease.
Synaptic transmission; Senior College programs and administration; Land conservation
Our lab group is currently focused on the epigenetics of benign (or not) urological disease.
Dr. Mrinalini is currently working on clinical studies on various uterotonics/adjuncts to prevent postpartum hemorrhage and is conducting complementary lab research to develop novel therapies.
The focus of my research is on gene identification for complex traits and the determination of how DNA changes influence gene function and contribute to risk.
Christine Bear is an epithelial biologist who studies molecular mechanisms underlying ion transport in health and disease.
Dr. Belik’s research interests are primarily focused on the pulmonary vascular smooth muscle and the control of pulmonary vascular resistance during development and following pulmonary hypertension.

Our lab is interested in signaling pathways that calcium-independently regulate resistance artery tone.
Our lab is focused on epithelial ovarian cancer, which affects nearly a quarter million women worldwide each year.
The overall aim of my research program is to understand the cellular and molecular physiological mechanisms regulating normal and pathological placental development with the long-term objective to use the information to develop new diagnostic tests and potential therapeutic strategies.
Pathophysiology of epilepsy, in vivo and in vitro studies, focusing on mitochondrial biology, gene therapy, signal processing, and imaging studies.
Three areas of research: menopausal hormonal replacement therapy, infertility including male infertility, and assisted reproductive technology including embryology.
Dr. Chauhan has established a productive translational electrophysiology research program that characterizes cardiac repolarization dynamics in patients with cardiomyopathy as it related to the pathogenesis of lethal ventricular tachyarrhythmias.
We are studying the mechanisms that control the strength of brain cell connections (synapses) and how this fundamental property, known as synaptic plasticity, affects brain function
Dr. Kim Connelly is a Cardiologist and Scientist who is both nationally recognized as an expert in human and rodent echocardiography, cardiovascular MRI and the impact of diabetes upon cardiac function.
We study cellular and molecular interaction between the maternal and fetal systems to improve human health in pregnancy
Computational modeling of neuron-glial interactions in the healthy and diseased brain.
Research is directed towards neurophysiology of hearing difficulties in people who have cochlear implants using electroencephalography (EEG).
Our research is motivated by the dream of identifying novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of acute organ failure in critically ill patients.
James Duffin collaborates with labs around the world researching the chemoreflex control of breathing. Current research investigates the control of cerebral blood flow.
Investigating how epigenetic factors influence neuronal function.
We investigate ion channel regulation and calcium-dependent mechanisms underlying neurodevelopment, plasticity, and neurological disorders to identify new drug targets.
Niall Ferguson is an Intensivist and Clinician-Scientist who incorporates physiology into clinical trials in the Intensive Care Unit.

Our lab investigates the physiologic and molecular responses, in particular myocardial fibrosis in the right and left ventricles in response to right ventricular pressure loading and pulmonary hypertension.
My laboratory is focused on the molecular mechanisms which regulate exocytosis, using two models- the neuroendocrine insulin-secreting pancreatic islet beta cell and the epithelial pancreatic acinar cell.
Computational genomics focused on the replicability of transcriptomic signals - cell identity, gene function, and conservation across species.
