Detailed Description: The Lambe Lab research team focuses on the prefrontal cortex, a brain region critical for attention as well as the regulation of anxiety. We study the development of prefrontal cortical neurons and circuitry using the tools of electrophysiological recording and multiphoton imaging. These techniques allow us to assess functional receptors and local circuitry at different points in development and determine how these are changed by molecular, pharmacological, and behavioural manipulations. Such information is important to identify vulnerabilities in the development of brain circuitry and to design novel therapeutic interventions for attention and anxiety disorders.
