SCS2159 - Evaluation

Evaluation

Course Evaluation: Student Assessment has three (3) components:

1. Four to Five (4 to 5) web-based quizzes contribute towards the term mark which accounts for 45% of the course grade. Each quiz is 30 minutes long and will include 20 multiple choice questions, with either one most CORRECT or one most INCORRECT choice.

  • The quiz is available for 24 hours (Toronto time; Monday 9AM to Tuesday 9AM; The time may change depending on the year); you can login anytime to complete the quiz.
  • The latest you can start is Tuesday 8:30AM to get the full 30 minutes.
  • Please click on the "Assignments" tab and you will see the link appear.
  • Please note that once you start the quiz, the timer will count. If you are logged-out or the power goes out etc., simply re-open the browser and login again (note that the timer will continue while you are logged out).
  • Please note that you must complete the quiz once you start it (i.e. you cannot start the quiz and come back an hour later, the timer will count the moment you open the quiz).
  • Please note that the quiz will be automatically submitted when 30 minutes have passed.
  • Study aids are NOT permitted. If you think that a question is ambiguous, answer it as you understand it, then email us within 30 minutes of finishing your quiz.
  • If you miss a quiz, there will be NO makeup quiz.
  • Typos do not make the statement incorrect.
  • Please review the University of Toronto's Code of Behaviour on Academic Matters.

2. The final examination will account for 50% of the course grade. The final examination is 2-hours long (multiple choice questions). All lecture material presented in the course is included in the final examination.

3. Participation will account for 5%. Participation marks are assigned for regular and constructive contributions to online discussions.

~35% of our past students who have completed the course have received a grade of 80% (A) and above
