Building a Better Diabetes Predictor Every year in Canada as many as 20 per cent of pregnant women develop gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), which in most cases is a temporary form of diabetes. Even though the condition usually goes away following delivery of their babies, women who’ve had this transient form of diabetes are about seven times more likely to develop type 2 diabetes (T2D) in the future.

Special Issue Published in Dr. Atwood's Honour

This special issue of the Journal of Neurogenetics is in honour of Professor Harold Atwood’s lifetime contributions to the fields of Neuroscience and Physiology. In addition to Harold’s many important scientific discoveries, he also had a profound impact on many of his scientific colleagues and trainees.
