Research Synopsis:

Research Interests: Dr. Monnier studied biochemistry and business management at the University of Nancy (France). He wrote his doctoral thesis on the purification and characterization of membrane proteins and their role in axon guidance at the University Eye Hospital, Tuebingen. After spending one year as a postdoctoral fellow in the research group of Dr. Mueller at the MPI for Dev. Biology, he was head of the proteomics and assay development group.

METHODS USED

Cell and tissue culture: Brain slice, neurons.

Procedures: Elisa, qRT-PCR, RT-PCR, siRNA, western blot

EQUIPMENT USED

Cryostat, deconvolution fluorescence microscope, dissecting microscope, fluorescence microscope, fresh tissue sectioning systems, gel apparatus, vibratome.
